I just finished reading a will of an ancestor, written
in 1792. In part it said, "Washington County,
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Sylvania......."
On the 1790 census this ancestor was shown in
Cumberland township, which is now part of
Greene CO.

Does anybody recognize Sylvania, or can anyone
direct me to an appropriate map for that time period?
I have tried the usgs/gnis site but no luck.

Also, would I find any available records in Washington
or Greene CO for the period prior to becoming part of
Greene CO?

Any imput on the above would be greatly appreciated.
