John G. ``Mickey'' Cheskey, 90, of Verona, formerly of Herminie, died
Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, He was born Sept. 4, 1910, in Bakerstown, a son of
the late Charles and Cecilia Cheskey. ``Mickey'' was a coal miner his entire
life, having worked for Consolidation Coal Company and many mines in the
local area. He was also a member of United Mine Workers of America Union
#2155, District #5. Mickey was an avid baseball player, having been the
catcher for the Wendel and Renton mines. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his wife, Jennie (Mazero) Cheskey, on July 11, 1981;
