Service planned for local native believed killed in NYC attack
BY CHRISTIE CAMPBELL
THE OBSERVER-REPORTER
Two people with ties to the local area remain among those unaccounted for
following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
While one family has decided it's time to hold a memorial service for their
missing family member, the other family holds out hope that their loved one
will be found.
A memorial service for Washington High School graduate Angela Reed Vaira
Kyte, who is believed to be among the thousands who perished in the Sept. 11
attack, will be held Sunday.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church of
Washington. The Rev. Duane Thompson will officiate.
Larry Senko, 34, a son of Edward and Marge Senko of Donora, also was in one
of the twin towers when a hijacked jet crashed into it.
A graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School, Senko lives in Yardley and is
an area vice president for Alliance Consulting Co.
Marge Senko said Monday she still has faith her son is alive.
"They just haven't gotten to him yet," she said.
Angela Reed Vaira Kyte, 49, was a managing director for Marsh USA Inc., an
insurance brokerage firm.
She worked in a different building in New York City but was in the World
Trade Center the morning of the attack to attend a meeting.
She was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School and graduated from
Lycoming College in Williamsport.
She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Vaira of Washington; her husband,
Roger Kyte of Boonton, N.J.; a son, Morgan Kyte, and four sisters.
