Was wondering if anyone had access to the
deed books for Washington Ct. I'm looking
for a purchase of land by

Henry Maxwell
Thomas Maxwell
James Maxwell
Samuel Maxwell

It might be under Maxfield - they tended to
confuse Maxwell for Maxfield. The time frame
for buying land (they didn't hold orginal
land grants) would be 1783 to 1800. The
location would be in Chartiers near where
Mt. Pleasant/Canton and Chartiers meet.
In the 1790 Census, Henry/Thomas/Samuel
are listed as Maxfield instead of Maxwell
and their neighbors are all in this area.
Also son Walter buys land across in Canton
in 1802 - I have the deed, it was purchased
from Allision which crossed Canton/Chartiers.
