SCHOTTENHEIMER, PARRY, CAIN,
Frank Albert SCHOTTENHEIMER, SR., 77, died Saturday, August 27, 1960, in
his home in Third street, McDonald.
A son of John Baptist and Theresa WEISENBAUGH SCHOTTENHEIMER, he was born
July 21, 1883, in Germany. He had resided in McDonald since 1904. In 1910
Mr. SCHOTTENHEIMER opened a motorcycle and bicycle shop which he operated
for many years. He also was employed by the Pittsburgh Coal Co, retiring in
1945.
He was a member of the First U. P. Church, McDonald, was an ordained elder,
a member of the Christian Service Class and a former member of the choir.
Surviving are his wife, Bell MARTIN SCHOTTENHEIMER; a daughter, Pearl, the
wife of Arthur RANDOUR of Silver Springs, Md.; three sons, Maj. J. Albert
SCHOTTENHEIMER, with the U. S. Air Force in England, martin SCHOTTENHEIMER
of McDonald, and Frank A. SCHOTTENHEIMER of R.D. 2 Burgettstown; and a
sister, Mrs. Kate SPEICHER, West View. There are nine grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Rogers funeral home,
McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Samuel E. GLASS, pastor of the First U. P.
Church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery.
Frank PARRY, Sr., of R. D. 3, McDonald, died Tuesday, August 23, 1960, in
the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. PARRY was born in Spain. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, No.
127, Canonsburg, and Slovenian National Home, Bishop.
Surviving are his wife, Julia BARTOLLI PARRY; four sons, Frank, Jr., and
Raymond, both of R. D. 3, McDonald, and Joseph and William, both of
Canonsburg; and a daughter, Mrs. Corrine TORNICHIO, of R. D. 3, McDonald.
There are six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning in Guardian Angel R. C. Church,
Southview, in charge of the Rev.Fr. F. X. FELDMAIER. Burial was in St.
Patrick's cemetery, Canonsburg.
Mrs. Melvina STEWART CAIN, 86, died at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 1960,
in the Home for Aged Women, Washington.
Mrs. CAIN was a descendent of a pioneer family of Robinson Township, where
she was born July 26, 1874, a daughter of the late Robinson and Mary Jane
CHRISTY MATCHETT. She spent her entire life in the Robinson and Smith
Township area. She was one of the oldest and a life-long member of the
Raccoon Presbyterian Church, Candor.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Her husband, John W. CAIN died
in 1937.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the Wilson funeral home, Midway in
charge of the Rev. Robert VEYDT, pastor of the Midway Methodist Church.
Burial was in Raccoon cemetery, Candor.
*Note: The obit for Mrs. Melvina STEWART CAIN was a bit confusing. Stewart
is listed as if it were her maiden name; however, her parents are listed as
Robinson and Mary Jane CHRISTY MATCHETT. Doesn't say anyplace that she was
married before. Maybe someone on the list can sort it out.
