BARON, YOUNG, PATTEN, ATEN

Miss Virginia BARON, 23, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank BARON of Terrace
street, died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 1946 in her home after a
lingering illness.
Virginia was born April 2, 1923, in McDonald. She was graduated from
McDonald high school in the class of 1940.
She is survived by her parents; a brother, Cpl. Arthur BARON, stationed at
Goodman field, Fort Knox, Ky., and two sisters, Miss Jean BARON and Mrs.
Andrew PAVLIC, both of McDonald.
Friends will be received at the Pettit Funeral home, East Lincoln avenue,
McDonald, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. this Friday. Burial will
be in Robinson's Run cemetery.

Robert YOUNG, 51, died Monday October 14, 1946, in his home in Elizabeth.
A son of the late John and Isabelle MCFARLANE YOUNG of West Elizabeth,
former McDonald residents, he was born in McDonald. He was employed as a
river barge engineer.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mildred MARSH YOUNG; a daughter Carol Jean; a son
William; a stepson, Glenn THOMAS; four brothers, William YOUNG of Elrama,
and John, George, and James YOUNG, all three of West Elizabeth, and four
sisters, Mrs. Margaret BUCY and Mrs. Charles PASCOE, both of West Elizabeth,
Mrs. James GRANGER of Dravosburg, and Mrs. Stanley HOLMES of Elizabeth.
Mrs. Robert YOUNG of Fifth street and Mrs. Jean BRUCE of the Westend,
McDonald, are aunts.
Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon from his home in
Elizabeth.

Mrs. Margrette OKESON PATTEN, 56, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, October 12,
1946, in her home, Montgomery street, Midway, following a three week
illness. A daughter of Samuel and Martha Jane OKESON, she was born January
1, 1890, in Portersville. She and Earl PATTEN were married 26 years ago in
Johnstown. She was a member of the Methodist church, Oakland, Pittsburgh.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, John J. PATTEN of San
Francisco, Calif., Gilbert H. KUNKLE of Imperial, and Harry A. KUNKLE of
Guam; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia ROSE of Pittsburgh and Mrs. (Honey) Earle
VAN BUSKIRK of Fort Belvoir, Va., and two brothers, Harry A. OKESON of
Morgantown, W. Va., and William D. OKESON of Niles, Ohio. There are six
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Wilson Funeral
home, Midway, in charge of the Rev. H. Paul SMITH, pastor of the Midway
Methodist church. Burial was in the Allegheny County Memorial cemetery,
Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Jennie C.ATEN, 51, of Follansbee, W. Va., died Monday evening, October
14, 1946, in the North Wheeling hospital, shortly after being admitted. She
had been in ill health the past year.
A daughter of the late James and Margaret MORRIS REED, she was born October
23, 1895, in Langeloth. She formerly resided in Burgettstown and
Steubenville, moving to Follansbee 12 years ago. Her husband Aaron ATEN
died 16 years ago. Mrs. ATEN was a member of the Raccoon Presbyterian
church, Candor, the White Shrine, and the Burgettstown Eastern Star chapter.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pat OLIVETO of Fairmont, W. Va., and
Mrs. Bernard SLATTERY, at home; a son Aaron ATEN of Bulger, and two sisters,
Mrs. Roy MC PEAKE of Hollidays Cove, W. Va., and Mrs. Josephine CAMPBELL of
Pittsburgh. There are two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. this Thursday in the Raccoon
Presbyterian church, Candor, in charge of the Rev. A. Ferman KEARNEY of
Hollidays Cove. Burial will be in the Candor cemetery.
