Hello fellow listers,
I know that Ruth Williams married Alexander Wilson in 1820 and i know for
sure that they had at least 1 child. I think there were 3. Alexander died abt.
1830 then Ruth remarried and had more Children and this one was dead before
1840 because she is alone on the census with her children. Was it always the
rule that someone other than the mother would be made guardian of the children
then, or in just certain cases? I am just trying to think of ways to trace this
family and am making a list of possiblities so that when i ever get to
washington county i will have a plan of what to search. Thank you
