I might have your family. I would be checking this family first of all.
Note that your Isaac has a son "James W" too who could be named after a
grandfather. You would have to prove that your Isaac ties in (land,
wills, whatever) to this family, but if it were me, I'd be checking this
family first. There are age and place of birth fluctuations, but in my
own census research, that happens too.

Good luck! I'll take a crack at your other request.

WOW - I got So many responses to help I choose to reply to all of you at
once - OK?

THANK YOU A MILLION!! Now then, it appears you gave me so much info it
will take a while to sort it out.

Just about everybody asked for the names, dates and then for more info.
I wish I had more.........

Isaac Shaw was born in unknown area of PA July 31, 1850. I do not know
where. (but I got one lead as a reply from one of you already) He
married Laney Anne Clutter (1854-1931) and they lived in Greene County.
I can find him in the 1880 census living with wife and children in
Greene County. Can't find him in 1850, 1860, 1870 - can you? He was NOT
in Greene County in 1850, 1860, 1870 - that I have managed to search
myself. He died September 3, 1907, but I need nothing about his adult
life, just his origins.

Charles Wesley Gilbert was born in regions unknown in USA in 1876. He
supposedly was then raised as a child in California, PA by 2 red-headed
aunts for reasons unknown to me. I have no way of verifying this. He
married Rosa Frances Knight (1870-1959) and they lived in the city of
Pittsburgh where they were officers in the Salvation Army. He died
1967. I do not need any info about his adult life, marriage, it is his
origins only I search.

If this doesn't help, please end searching. I realized there would be
100's of names to search because I can't narrow it down.

I gladly and thankfully accept all your help - please let me know how I
may ever help you---Floyd
