PERKINS, THORNTON, MALARKY
An infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Nick PERKINS died Friday, February 8. The
Funeral took place Saturday afternoon. Interment at Hilldale.
Pressley THORNTON, 43 years old, an industrious and respected colored
citizen, died at his home on North Fanny street Tuesday night, Feb. 12, of
lung trouble. His wife and four sons survive him. The funeral took place
this Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the first Baptist church.
Mrs. Henrietta Barker PURDY MALARKY, wife of Hugh MALARKY, died at her home
on North Fannie (spelled two ways apparently) street on Friday, Feb. 8,
1907, after four months' illness of stomach trouble. The deceased was in
the 46th year of her age, having been born May 21, 1861. She and her
surviving husband were married January 2, 1881. Mrs. MALARKY was a member
of the First United Presbyterian church of McDonald. Besides her husband
she leaves three sons and two daughters, James, Robert, William, Mary and
Edna also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert PURDY, of North McDonald street,
and three brothers, Robert and John PURDY of McDonald, and Thomas PURDY of
the Shaw Mines. The funeral was held from her late home on Monday
afternoon, Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., conducted the services. Interment was
made in Robinson's Run cemetery.
