James L. HUNT, 46 years old, died suddenly at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, December
14, 1924, at his residence, 4015 Windsor street, Pittsburgh. He is survived
by his wife, Lydia EVANS HUNT. The HUNT family formerly resided in
Noblestown. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning. Interment was
at East Elizabeth. (sic)
Word has been received by the MASUELIER family of the death of Mrs. Adele
Gay GARROU, wife of the late Henri GARROU, the revered former pastor of the
French United Presbyterian church of McDonald. Mrs. GARROU passed away at
her home in Perosa, Argentina, Italy, November 17, 1924, and was buried
there two days later. The Rev. Mr. GARROU died in Italy nine years ago.
Mrs. GARROU leaves four children, also her mother, two sisters and one
brother.
Elizabeth Jane KLINE, aged 5, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Bert KLINE, died
at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. GILLINGHAM. Elizabeth
had a loving disposition and was loved by all who knew her. She will be
greatly missed by all. She leaves to mourn her loss her parents and her
grandparents. Funeral services were held at the home of her grandparents
Friday evening, conducted by the Rev. W. B. PURNELL. Interment was private
at 2:30 Saturday in the Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Margaret WINTERS DUMAS, wife of C. J. DUMAS, died at her home in
Avella at 8:30 o'clock Friday morning, December 12, 1924, after a two weeks'
illness of influenza. She was 28 years old. Besides her husband she leaves
a daughter Josephine three years old; her mother of Henderson, three sisters
and one brother. The body was brought to the Emile DUMAS Sr. home in
McDonald last Friday. The funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday
afternoon in charge of the Rev. J. H. DEBOLT. Interment was in Robinson's
Run cemetery.
Mrs. Joseph ROBINO, 55 years old, died at her home in Seattle, Wash.,
Monday, December 15 1924. Mrs. ROBINO was born in Charleroi, Belgium, and
came to the United States with her parents 33 years ago. The family settled
in McDonald. She is survived by one son, Leonard PHEDANT of Seattle, Wash.,
and two daughters in California. Three sisters and five brothers also
survive. They are: Mrs. J. B. MASQULIER and Mrs. Jules HAINAUT, both of
McDonald, Mrs. Joseph CUJAS of Hickory, F. L. DESCUTNER of Norwood, near
Philadelphia, Peter E. DESCUTNER, John DESCUTNER, Efren DESCUTNER and Harry
DESCUTNER, all three of McDonald.
Mrs. Margaret KAUFMANN, aged 69 years, wife of Adam KAUFMANN, died at the
family home, two miles south of McDonald, at 5:50 o'clock Friday morning,
December 12, 1924, following a lingering illness. Besides her husband, she
leaves three sons; John, Adam and William, and three daughters: Mrs. George
ZIEGLER, Mrs. Kate RIGGERT and Mrs. Anna MENKE.
Funeral services were held at the KAUFMANN home Monday afternoon at two o'
clock, in charge of the Rev. John H. TARNEDDE, pastor of the McDonald
Lutheran church, assisted by the Rev. J. I. KROHN, pastor of the Robinson's
Run United Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Thomas H. MCGREGOR, aged 43 years, of Bridgeville, died Sunday
evening, December 14, 1924, in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh. She was a
member of St. Agatha's Catholic church of Bridgeville and of Court
Chartiers, Catholic Daughters of America, of Crafton. Besides her husband,
she leaves five daughters: Elizabeth, Eleanor, Rose, Anna, and Kathleen;
her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas CALLAHAN of Sturgeon; three brothers and
seven sisters.
Funeral services were held in St. Agatha's church, Bridgeville, Wednesday
morning, at nine o'clock. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery,
Noblestown.
Mrs. Elizabeth P. SCOTT, aged 79 years and 8 months, died at 3:15 o'clock
Monday afternoon, December 15, 1924, at her home in Johnston street,
McDonald. Mrs. SCOTT had been ailing for several years, but had been
bedfast only a few days. Her death followed a stroke of paralysis. She
leaves four children: William J. SCOTT and Miss Della SCOTT, at home; Mrs.
A. A.LASHER of Tulsa, Okla.; and Mrs. R. H. CAMPBELL of McKeesport. She is
also survived by one brother and two sisters: George ARMSTRONG and Mrs.
Robert LINCOLN of Fayette City and Mrs. Emma SMITH of Ottawa, Kansas.
Funeral services were held at the late home Wednesday evening at eight o'
clock, in charge of the Rev. J. H. DEBOLT. Interment was in the cemetery at
Monongahela City on Thursday.
Charles Adrian ROWLAND died Saturday evening, December 6, 1924, at 7:30 o'
clock in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born on the ROWLAND farm, Carnegie,
and received his education in the elementary and high schools of the
Northside, Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Hawthorne Presbyterian church
of Crafton. For many years he was State agent of the Insurance Company of
Pennsylvania, and a senior member of the Oakdale Insurance company. He was
a former resident of Oakdale. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna
MCMILLAN ROWLAND, two sons, Charles A. Jr., and Thomas M. ROWLAND, the
latter a student at Penn State college; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth R.
GIBSON of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Helen F. FAHNESTOCK of Wilkinsburg.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Thursday of last week at H.
SAMSON's mortuary, Pittsburgh. Interment.. Bottom of page missing.
James L. HUNT, aged 46 years, died suddenly at 12:30 a.m. Sunday December
14, 1924 at his home at 1015 Windsor street, Pittsburgh. Mr. HUNT was born
in Elizabeth and at the time of his death was sales manager of the Franklin
Refining Co. He was a member of the B. P. O Elks No. 83. He leaves his
wife, Mrs. Lydia Evans HUNT, one son Andrew HUNT, one sister, Mrs. John EFT,
and three brothers, Louis, Frank and William HUNT. Funeral services were
held at his home on Wednesday morning. Interment was in East Elizabeth.
The HUNT family formerly resided here.

On Wednesday morning the body of Mrs. Elizabeth CALLAHAN MCGREGOR, wife of
Thomas H. MCGREGOR, was laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery, Noblestown.
Mrs. MCGREGOR, aged 43 years, died in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh,
Pittsburgh, at 7:10 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 1924. Besides her husband she
leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas CALLAHAN, five daughters, Elizabeth,
Eleanor, Rose, Anna and Kathleen, three brothers and seven sisters. She was
a member of St. Agatha's Catholic church of Bridgeville and Court Chartiers
of the Catholic Daughters of America, of Crafton. Funeral services were
held at the late home in Bridgeville on Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock
followed by a high mass in St. Agatha's church.
