RE: Glass Companies in Wayne County, I have this transcription from the
'Honesdale Citizen', dated July 7, 1898:

"Honesdale is to have another glass cutting establishment; John E. Krantz and
John Smith, for several years employees of Thomas B. Clark & Co., having
formed a partnership for that purpose. They have leased the second story of
Wyman Kimble's building, near the lower end of Park Lake, and will commence
manufacturing Aug. 1st, with 6 men."

>From 2 pages of the Honesdale City Directory (appx 60 names) 6 men were
employed as "glasscutter", one as "glassworker" - so it looks like it may
have been a major industry in town. Companies mentioned: Irving Cut Glass,
Kelly & Steinman, T.B. Clark & Co.,

I have one page from the 1890 Honesdale directory, of the 48 names listed, 3
men were glasscutters, no company names mentioned. I have one census page
from 1910, 50 names, 2 glasscutters.
