I am interested in ANY information on the VADAKIN surname. It
sometimes appears as VADICAN, VADIKIN. This is what I have so far. . .

*Ira VADAKIN bn. in NJ in1817, son of Frederick and Susanna Stetler
VADAKIN.

*1820 census finds Frederick & family in Pike County, PA.

*1830 census finds Frederick & family, and his brother James VADAKIN
in Wayne Co., Bethany Borough, PA

*1840 census finds Frederick & family in Canaan Twp.

*1850 census finds Frederick's son Ira married to Hannah M. with
three children, Elen, Asheal, Emily. They later have a child Lavina
(Vina)

Other records show Ira married to Almeda Sweet. Hannah may be a
nickname for Almeda

*Ira has been listed as an attorney and a newspaper person.

Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated.
