Subject: [PAWESTMO-L] land deed importance
Date: Sun, 18 Apr 1999 14:37:27 EDT
hi gang!
just wanted to remind everyone how important land deeds are in your
research to prove your ancestors. i have been searching for proof of my
Eliza (b 1812) who married William GOODLIN being the daughter of Daniel
SHANER, who Shaner Station was named for. this has been a difficult task,
and nothing gave me this proof, although from other records i could
speculate.... pure speculation though is not PROOF!!! while working on
William GOODLINs parentage, i decided to send for land records regarding his
step-father, Brintnal ROBBINS, who was the man who basically raised him from
about age 6 til he was of age. William even named his first born son
"Brintnal Robbins GOODLIN"! and when i received these land records, there
was a mortgage deed regarding William and B.R., and states right in the
middle, Eliza Goodlin, daughter of Daniel Shaner who had a deed for this land
and willed it to his heirs, did indeed intermarry with William Goodlin. MY
PROOF!!!!
.....so, the proof for my female ancestor came from her husbands step-fathers
land records.....
dont let any stone be unturned!!!!!
