I am posting this question to this list because I respect the opinions of the
people who respond to others on the list. I do not wish to begin a long
discussion. I only hope that a few knowledgeable researchers will give me
their ideas. My daughter recently adopted a baby from Russia. As I began to
incorporate her into my genealogy some questions arose. How do I designate
that she was adopted and not given birth within our family. There is no
question that I would leave her out because from the first second that I saw
her, she was and is my sweet granddaughter - just like all the others.
Should I put her Russian name in my notes section or should I just use her
American name? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.
