and MARGARET.

Charter members of Bull Creek Baptist Church on Bone Camp Creek in 1818.

William Peek sold to Charles Henderson, 100 acres of land located on Hayes Run
back in 1825. Witnessed by Lewis Bryan, son in law along with Canada
Henderson , son of Charles.
Williams father was buried on this land. William Peek Sr. William's father
had been buried there since 1802.

Notes for ZARCHARIAH PEEK:
Zachariah and Sarah moved to Ellijay Creek, Macon Co, about 1820 shortly after
marriage: among the first in Macon CO; members 1st Baptist Church of Franklin
to 1836 hence charter members of Sugar Fork Church; died while children were
small, he died in 1845 and she in 1848 of respiratory ailment; buried Sugar
Fork Church Cem. Rachel and William Corner Peek raised younger children.
Their children were born Ellijay Creek, Macon Co. (Haywood Co. to 1828) NC

7. PHOEBE PEEK was born 1804 in Laurens SC. She married JAMES HOLLAND, son
of ? HOLLAND and ANN WALDROOP.
Notes for JAMES HOLLAND:
James Holland was born 1799 and married Pheobe Peek, born 1804, daughter
of David and Polly Henderson Peek. James had a sister Pherabie Holland
who married Rev. Joshua Ammons. Their mother was a Waldroop and from a
torn Bible page her name seems to have been Ann.

James Holland moved to Macon Co. in the 1820's. He and Pheobe were the
parents of Bertha Holland md. John Setzer; Benjamin Holland md Pheobe
Burrell; Anthony Holland md Elizabeth Corbin; William md Nancy Burns;
Elizabeth Holland md William Rogers; James md Mary Rogers; Caroline
Holland md Robert Rogers; Edith Holland md Newton Rogers; David Holland
md Sallie Gregory; Richard Holland Joshua and Leander who md Susan
Franks Tilson and 2nd Harriett Justice.

The shadows of the Civil War fell heavy on the Holland home as they saw
four sons - Anthony, William, James and David and three son-in-laws
Robert, Newton and William Rogers all march away to war. Their son
James was to never return home, for he was killed at Fort Sumter, SC.
Anthony was Shot in the hand with a minnie ball and William Rogers was
shot in the face, however, they both recovered and returned home. A
daughter-in-law, Sallie Gregory Holland, followed her husband to some of
the battle fields and carried water to the soldiers. Mother said their
childish ears were often regaled with "Aunt Sallie's stories of the
hardship and privations of the days following the "War", which to all
true southerners was the War Between the States.
