Subject: Bruces from Skye, Scotland

My Bruce ancestors left Skye for PEI in the 1840-50 timeframe. My g-g-
grandfather, Alexander Bruce (known as "Sandy") married Mary MacLean (from Lot
66) in 1855 and they lived on Lot 57 in the Lyndale area. They had 2 sons,
John R. Bruce and Alexander (Alex) Bruce. John R. married Barbara MacKenzie
and Alexander married Annie MacDonald. I believe my g-g-grandfather may have
had 2 daughters as well but nothing is known about them.

John R. Bruce and his first wife, Barbara, lived on Lot 51, Sparrows Road in
the Victoria Cross area (the old Malcolm MacKenzie farm). His second wife was
Effie (Morrison) MacLeod, and when she died just approx. two years after their
marriage, I believe he married for a third time. The identity of this 3rd
wife is not known for certain, but it is possible she may have been a
Nicholson.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have knowledge of Alexander
(Sandy) and Mary from Lot 57, or knowledge of any of John R. and Barbara's 14
children. I have the names of these children and some other details, but am
always looking for further information.
