Greetings to all,

Seems time to post my brick wall again to see if anyone has happened to run
into this family in the last year!

I am seeking a birth record and/or clues for a Barbara MCLEAN who was,
according to the best sources I can find, born on PEI, likely near Charlottetown,
around 1837. I have only one source with her parents names, her death record
with information given by a daughter, so they may or may not be reliable:
Archibald MCLEAN (carpenter) and Johan MCCAULDER.

A MCCAULDER family (MCAULDRIDGE) arrived on the "Spencer" in 1806. With the
parents, Gilbert and Catherine DARRACH/DARRAGH, were the following children:
Alexander, John, Peter, Donald (my own opinion - was a second 'John' on the
manifest), and Merrion. Several more children were born on PEI and were
baptized at St Paul: Archibald, Mary, William, Malcolm (no baptism record but was
named in land record), and Forbes. There are a couple gaps in years big enough
for another unidentified child. A will for Gilbert was mentioned in the land
record but it is unfortunately not at the archives?

This is the only McCAULDER family, that I'm aware of, on the island for the
1841 census although other families were leaving from Colonsay and may have
been traveling through on their way to New Brunswick and/or Ontario.

If anyone has run into a marriage for these female MCCALDERs I'd love to be
able to either rule them out or keep them in consideration as a potential
ggg-grandmother! I have been in touch with a couple of descendants of the boys.

Further, if anyone has run into any family correspondence to SARGENT/SARGEANT
rellies in New Zealand in the mid- to late 1800's that might be a clue too!

Regards and thanks to all.
