Hi Bill, I'm sorry to say, I can't definitely tie these to my family, except
the witness to the marriage may have been my John or his son John. Those
were the only two Johns that I have found in Wilson for that time period.
(there could have been more). Martha (Patsy) prob. wasn't a dau. of my John
as she wasn't listed in the quit claim deed that Martha signed in 1871.
(unless she was already deceased?) I am so sure there is a connection
between all of these Pembertons in Wilson and Saline. It seems John did not
migrate to TN alone from VA. He must have been accompanied by other
Pembertons (maybe siblings) ? That's why we have so many Pembertons of the
next generation in Wilson Co. There was a large migration to Saline Co., IL
in the 1840s, so the families even stayed together then. Martha/Patsy may
have been a neice and a cousin to the children of John. I have just abt.
decided that Martha W. (signed the quit claim deed in 1871) after John is
deceased, is a second wife. I have also long thought that there is a
DeJarnette/Pemberton marriage there. There are known Pemberton/ DeJarnette
connections in VA.
I will keep your msg. and if anything turns up of interest, I'll contact
you. I'm sure there is a connection there somewhere.
Thanks for writing
Sharron
