Dear Pennington Cousins,

With the help of a generous cousin, I was recently able to find my great-great
grandmother, Ethel F. PENNINGTON's parents. Now I am wondering if anyone has
information on her grandfather, Ephriam PENNINGTON of Mt. Bethel, Somerset
Co., NJ. I am including all the notes I have on this line in hopes that
someone will see something familiar. Any info would be appreciated.

First Generation

1. Ephriam PENNINGTON. (dates unknown) He resided at Mount Bethel, NJ until he
came to Fulton County, Ohio and settled in what is now Chesterfield Twp near
Oak Shade (at the junction of SR108 and US20). Ephriam married Polly MOOR.

They had the following children:
i.Ann. She died on 31 Jan 1872. Descendants.
ii.Rachel. She died on 19 Sep 1865 leaving many descendants in Newark, NJ,
MI, and Fulton Co., OH. Rachel married Elijah STITES.
iii.Mary. She died on 20 Apr 1842 leaving descendants in ID.
iv.Joel. He died on 27 Jul 1890.

Second Generation

2. William E. PENNINGTON. He was born on 20 Sep 1823 in Mt. Bethel, Somerset
Co., NJ, USA and died in Chesterfield Twp., Fulton Co., OH, USA on 2 Feb 1903;
he was 79. He was an early settler near Oak Shade and has many descendants
living here in 1975.

On 26 Jan 1843 when William E. was 19, he first married Anna STITES, daughter
of Amos STITES & Ann KELLY. She was born in Mt. Bethel, Somerset Co., NJ, USA
and died in Jan 1865 in Chesterfield Twp., Fulton Co., OH, USA.

They had the following children:
i.Amos. Born on 3 Jul 1844 in NJ, USA. Amos died on 7 Feb 1928; he was
83.Amos married Amy KIFTH.
ii.John (Died as Infant).

iv.Isaac. Born on 15 Jun 1850 in Fulton Co., OH, USA. Moved to Hannibal,
MO, USA.
4v.Joel (1852-)
vi.Wilbert J. (Twin). Born on 16 Mar 1853 in Fulton Co., OH, USA. Wilbert
J. died in Dover Twp
lton Co., OH, USA on 7 Jul 1940; he was 87. Moved to
St. John, KS, USA.
vii.William (Twin). Born on 16 Mar 1853 in Fulton Co., OH, USA.
viii.Eugene C.. Born on 11 Jul 1857 in Fulton Co., OH, USA. Moved to
Center, MO, USA.

On 25 Oct 1865 when William E. was 42, he second married Phoebe LEE, daughter
of David LEE & Martha [LEE], in Morenci, MI, USA. She died on 16 Mar 1877.

They had the following children:
i.David L.. Born on 9 Jun 1868. He resided in Adrian, MI, USA
ii.Marion (Died as Infant).

William E. third married Elizabeth STITES.

They had one child:

3. Ephraim PENNINGTON. Born on 12 Jan 1848. Ephraim died in Oak Shade, Fulton
Co., OH, USA on 17 Jan 1898; he was 50. He married Elizabeth WELLS.

They had the following children:
i.Verney George. Born on 13 Feb 1883.

ii.Minnie. Born on 9 Nov 1876.

4. Joel PENNINGTON. He was born in 1852 and died in Chesterfield Twp., Fulton
Co., OH, USA. He married Minnie HALSEY.

They had one child:
i.Ervin F.. Born on 24 Jan 1881.

5. Frank PENNINGTON. Born on 14 Mar 1871. He resided near Oak Shade, Fulton
Co., OH, USA. Frank married Jennie McLAIN.

They had the following children:
i.Guy. Born on 6 Mar 1891. Guy died on 7 Jun 1977; he was 86. Served in the
military: US Army; WWI
ii.Carl. Born in 1911. Carl died in 1984; he was 73. Buried in 1984 in
Tedrow Cemetery, Tedrow, Fulton Co., OH, USA.
iii.Sadie. Born in 1915. Sadie died in 1980; he was 65. Buried in 1980 in
Tedrow Cemetery, Tedrow, Fulton Co., OH, USA.

6. Mary Ann PENNINGTON. She was born on 5 Sep 1874.

Mary Ann first married Willis MARKLEY.

They had the following children:
i.Floyd.
ii.Orvill.
iii.Orla. She married Bert JOHNSTON.

Mary Ann second married Wesley JENNINGS, her cousin.

7. Ethel Florence PENNINGTON. She was born on 15 Feb 1880 and died in 1962;
she was 81. Buried in 1962 in Tedrow Cemetery, Tedrow, Fulton Co.,
e was 14, she married George L. SCOTT, in
Fulton Co., OH, USA. Born in 1872. George L. died in 1959; he was 87.

They had the following children:
i.Jessie Howard. Born on 10 Mar 1897 in Fulton Co., OH, USA. Jessie Howard
died on 13 Nov 1972; he was 75. Buried in 1972 in Tedrow Cemetery, Tedrow,
Fulton Co., OH, USA. Served in the military. Military: US Army, Pvt., WWI

Jessie Howard married Ethel E. [SCOTT]. Born in 1905.
ii.Nellie Gertrude. She was born July 14, 1901 in Oak Shade, Fulton Co.,
OH, USA and died Aug. 1981 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH, USA. She was 80. In
1920, when Nellie was 19, she married John Robert QUILLMAN (d. 1938), son of
Frank QUILLMAN and Lillian BROWN of Napoleon, Henry Co., OH, USA. They had 4
children. Nellie is buried at the Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon Twp., Henry
Co., OH, USA.
iii.Helen.
