Dear Cousins on the List:
I have just received a letter from Pam Talluto! I would like to
share it with you!

Thanks for checking out my web page!

In response to the Maryland information, no, unfortunately I don't have
any actual records. I got my information based on the "speculation" of
others, probably the same as you have heard.

If you'll note, however, in my Introduction I state:

"One thing to keep in mind: Although I have attempted to be as
thorough as possible in my research, there comes a certain point where
it is not possible to document with facts. At that point, the chronicle
becomes speculative, based on what could have or probably
happened instead of what actually happened. Because of my "burning
curiosity", I went as far back as I could, even when I did not have
documented proof of certain events. I wish to make clear which things
POSITIVELY happened and which things PROBABLY happened . . .

. . . As for what happened before 1694, these same names and dates
that I use are often quoted by genealogists doing research on this
same Pennington line, even though there is no documented "proof"
that it happened. In other words, I did not just pull these names and
dates out of thin air. Many people before me have gotten this
information from their own sources and believe it to be true, even
though it cannot be positively documented."
I wanted to make clear to readers that that particular
information was not documented, and at the same time, make the
information available to those who had that same "burning curiosity" as
to what may have been.
I hope you will still be able to enjoy my book (and my web
site!) even though you may not agree with the inclusion of that
particular information! Please feel free to e-mail me with any more
comments and/or suggestions!
Thanks, Pam Talluto

This is my response to Pam's Response!

You do not understand. Please do not label what I
have said as disagreeing with what is presented here. What is
presented here is not the truth. It is not true that you label this
Pennington information as "what might have happened." It is beyond
speculation, it is beyond a difference of opinion, it is beyond what "may
have happened." What is presented here is represented as research.
It is not research. If it has been taken from what someone else wrote,
it is not even "your research."
Your pages state a variety of things as facts -- starting with
Henry and Elizabeth Pennington as parents of Abraham -- which are
not facts. This is not genealogy and it is not research.
I had hoped, through many e-mails to the list in regard to the
errors, speculation, and outright distortions that appear in the Maryland
Pennington families to encourage and promote genealogy as an
honorable and even rather noble undertaking. In seeking out the
truths that lie in our ancient past we promote and understanding of
what we're all about as human beings. We have an opportunity to
know our ancestors through these quests.
What honor acrues to someone who deliberately distorts the
truth about these sacred souls? What kind of person steals someone's
identity through these lies? And tell me please, what is gained by
persisting in it and perpetuating it?
I asked if ANY supporting evidence was known that
indicated that ANY of the Maryland information was correct that you
please share it with the rest of us. I still invite you to do that. If you
really have any BURNING CURIOSITY, why don't you start finding out
the truth? And why don't you label your pages about the Maryland
Penningtons something like, "THIS IS A PRETTY STORY OF HOW
I'D LIKE MY ANCESTRY TO BE, however......I DON'T KNOW
WHETHER THERE'S ONE DAMN DROP OF TRUTH TO IT!"
