Linda & cousins,

Of course, Alonzo said he didn't do it, and the legend is that he wrote a
song about it and asked for his fiddle to play it on the gallows before
they hung him. He was another pioneer in the family -- the first white man
hung in Christian County, KY according the the story in the Pennington
Research Assoc. literature. The PRA didn't say what he was accused of,
though -- this is the first I've heard of that.
