The Group numbers that are referred to are different lines of
descendants that have been identified by the Pennington Research
Association. They have been named and numbered in an effort to help
researchers identify the lines they are researching when communicating
with others. The Group numbers and names are not absolute as new
evidence is uncovered that changes the educated conclusions of the
researchers. At the last meeting of the PRA, some groups were combined
as it was concluded that they indeed did descend from the same
individual... In addition, at the 1998 meeting, there will be a vote on
new groups that have been proposed as there has been no evidence to tie
them to an existing group.

The groups by name and number, are listed at the PRA web site, and many
of the groups have descriptions to help researchers. Those that don't
have descriptions, are either awaiting someone's creative talents and
time, or an update from a hard working volunteer of the PRA. Naturally
you can follow the hypertext at the end of most of these posting to get
to the web site.

Hopefully this answers the general aspect of the group numbers, and if
anyone with more knowlegde or experience with the PRA wishes to add or
correct something I've said.... please speak up...
