Dear Sharon and Cousins on the List,
These desendants of the David Hall/Martha Pennington family
may well connect to the elusive Pennington brothers of my family who
migrated from Baltimore County Maryland to the Belmont/Guernsey County
area of Ohio shortly after the War of 1812. My ancestor was John
Pennington and there was a Jesse, William, Allen and Richard. Jesse
and John served in the War of 1812 in Maryland. They lived in
Kirkwood township in Belmont County and in Londonderry twp in
Guernsey. Some members of this family may be buried in Sewellsville
Cemetery which is in Belmont County, but along the Guernsey county
line.near the. Both John and Jesse had large families, and I am still
trying to determine the names of most of their children.
I have collected many Ohio Pennington records, which I am
happy to share with any interested researchers. Although I have
resigned from the Research Committee, I have really enjoyed getting to
know you, and hope to be able to continue helping anyone where I can.
Your Cousin, Carolyn
