Subject: Zack PENNINGTON

I found this reference in a book, "Indiana's Birthplace - A History
of
Harrison County, Indiana" Roose and Funk, Adams Press, Chicago.
Call
letters: R977.221 1966

"The Civil War era brought Harrison County into the limelight with
several different incidents. First was the Underground Railroad, the
secret system of smuggling slaves to the North. There were several
crossing places in Harrison County along the Ohio River. The Bell
family at Morvins Landing, along with Zack Pennington and William
Crawford were leaders in the stations within the County."

Of interest, "The Ohio River follows the county (Harrison) boundary
for almost forty miles....."

Hope someone can use this information.
