I don't know a whole lot about this Absolom, but he is of interest to Group
8 researchers. Ruth Dickey's book "The Penningtons of Big Buffalo"
mentions this Absolom. William Pennington, son of Jacob Pennington
(progenitor of the Lawrence Co., TN Penningtons), married Mary Perkins of
Rutherford Co., TN. Mary was, according to Ms. Dickey, probably the
daughter of Leroy Perkins. She further speculated that Leroy, and a John
Perkins of Rutherford Co., were sons of Joshua Perkins. Leroy Perkins and
Absolom Pennington had land that adjoined in Rutherford Co., TN.

Ms. Dickey's book goes on to mention Helen Free VanderBeek of Idaho Falls,
Idaho, a ggg granddaughter of Absolomo Pennington. Ms. VanderBeek gave
Absolom's wife as Marjory Perkins, dau. of Joshua Perkins and Mary Shirril.

Note also that Jacob Pennington's estate records (1827) mention John and
Joshua Perkins among the witnesses.

I'd enjoy hearing back from anyone with an interest in these Perkins or
Penningtons.
