Mr. Privett,

I am looking for the parents of my great, great grandfather, Moses James Lane,
who was born at Carthage Tennessee and died in Hamlton Co. Illinois. I believe
that his mother was a Pennington. Do you have any information about this.

Moses Lane b. about 1827 in Carthage Tennessee. I do not know who his father
was, perhaps a Spencer Lane but I am just guessing. Spencer was in Jackson Co
TN in 1830 and then moved to Barren Co KY and was in Illinois in 1840, perhaps
Wayne Co.

Moses Lanes son, Junius Wilson Lane, was my ggrandfather.

Thomas Leroy Lane, Junius' son was my grandfather.

Do you have any information in your Pennington information that would connect
Moses Lane to your lines. My grandfather spoke of Grandma Pennington when I was
little, but until I became interested in genealogy I just thought she was an
elderly lady living in the neighborhood. Now I know she was his great
grandmother on his father's side. On his mother's side through the Gammon line,
his grandfather was Samuel Taylor Gammon, whose mother was Jane Trotter, whose
parents were Joseph Trotter and Elmina Pennington.

I would appreciate any help that you can give me.
