Does anyone happen to know if this family is related to:

William PENNINGTON b. 1816 Lee Co., VA married Martha BLANTON 8 Dec. 1836
Floyd Co., KY . (My information comes from another researcher and I'm not
sure if their birth & death dates are estimatted or not.) Theydied bet.
1880-1900. Martha was born 1816 Lee Co., VA daughter of George BLANTON and
Martha SHEPHERD.
I found William and Martha (BLANTON) PENNINGTON on the 1880 Census for FLat
Gap Precinct 3, Johnson Co., KY. Dwelling/Family# 149
PENNINGTON, William age 64, Farmer, Born VA, Father born VA, Mother born VA
Martha age 64, born VA, Father born VA, Mother
born VA

William & Martha (BLANTON) PENNINGTON's children:
1) Claiborne b. 1839 m. Sarah Lemaster
2) Rachel b. 1841 (d. 1933) m. Isaac Conley
3) Rebecca b. 1843
4) Joshua b. 1845 m. Mary J. Russell (or Jenkins)
5) GEORGE WASHINGTON PENNINGTON b. 1847 Paintsville, Johnson Co., KY (d.25
Oct. 1929) * my line.*
6) Levi b. 1849 (d. 1923) m. Sylvania C.
7) Polly Ann b. 1852 (d. bet. 1900-1910) m. Joseph Lemaster
8) Jesse b. 1854 m. Sarah S.
9) David b. 1856 m. 1st. Louisa Marshall, m. 2nd Ellen Whitley

Given common location and names of these families have I can't help
wondering if they are connected. ?
