I have a ggggrandmother who was named Mary Baer Hass. Baer/Bear was used in
identifying this surname. There were Baer/Bear surnames in both Washington
County and Frederick County Maryland.
My ggggrandmother Mary Baer was married to Peter Hass of Romney, Hampshire
Co., Va(WV). They owned about 680 acres of land on the South Branch of the
Potomac. This farm was inherited from Peter's father Christinian Hass/Haas
who was an early settler of that area. He Christinian was a veteran of the
Revolutionary War. Peter's father was previously a settler in Germantown,
Philadelphia, Pa. If any of this fits to the names you have it is probably
a relative. If there is a possible connection I would like to have the
item. They had several children. One of the daughters Catherine Hass was
married to my gggramdfather Israel Mayberry of Frederick, Maryland. Thanks,
Frank Mayberry in Muskogee, Ok
