MARY B. SMITH

Mrs. Mary B. Smith, 89, of Sunnyvale, California, a resident of Burlingame
most of her life, died Saturday at Sunnyvale. She was born December 18, 1871,
in Pennsylvania, and came to Burlingame with her parents in 1878. She was a
member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of the Burlingame Eastern
Star Chapter. Mrs. Smith, as a young woman, taught school at Burlingame. She
was the widow of a lumber yard dealer there. Surviving are a daughter, W.G.
Cartwright of Palo Alto, California; and two sons, Howard Smith of Fort Pierce,
Florida, and Murray Smith of Dallas, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m.
Tuesday in the Burlingame Federated Church with burial in the Burlingame Cemetery.
Carey Funeral Home of Burlingame is in charge.
