Sybil,
Any idea who Thomas's parents were and when he came to America. I noted in the 1860 US Census that there were (3) Thomas Taylor's born (ca 1846) in England residing in Philadelphia. Perhaps you have already looked at this? If not I can forward you the detials of these Thomas Taylors.
