Hello- I am researching Benjamin DeCorse Penney who was born ca
1830 IN. He lived in Prairie Grove, Washington Co, AR and had siblings
John and Rachel who lived in Prairie Grove and Frances Connor Penney
who lived in Charleston, Franklin Co, AR. I don't know who their parents
were.
John Penney had wife Kate and sons Frank and DeCorse. Ben left AR
and went to CA for the gold rush, to OR where he enlisted in the Civil
War and ended up in Idaho Co, ID (mid 1870's) where he died in 1894. He
married a Nez Perce named Elizabeth.
Does anyone know anything about this family? The Penney's were
English or Welsh- DeCorse is his mother's maiden name and she was from
Alsace-Lorraine. Thanks so much! Patti Woodard
