I've had a look at the entry in the Dunblane OPR. My reading of it is as follows: 'Alexander son to <space> Chrystal Daysman [NB not Degman!] in Dunblane was born on 28 November and baptised on 2 December 1787.' [NB not 1789]
Chrystal would appear to be the surname, the Christian name was apparently unknown and Daysman refers to the occupation, a daysman being, according to the Scottish National Dictionary, a day-labourer.
