Hi All,
This is my second attempt at posting to this group..I did not see it
posted,so apologies if you have had this before.

I have just started subscribing to this newsgroup and chasing after
my McWHANNEL roots.I would welcome contact with anyone who can link into or
add to this information.
My earliest known McWHANNELL relative is :-
1.Thomas McWHANNELL married to Mary CRUVER (CRURER) c 1800 in Perthshire
Scotland.
2.Children:Thomas McWHANNELL born c 1817 Comrie Perthshire where he died in
3/8/1898.
He married Jessie (Janet) WALKER c 1855.She was born Weems c 1821 d Comrie
18/09/1912 (Her parents were James WALKER and Catherine McEWEN)
3 The Thomas McWHANNELL in 2 above was a ploughman and at Garricherew( is
this a place or a farm?) Comrie in 1861.They had a number of children:-
James,Catherine c 1857,John,MaryAnn c 1858,Margaret and possibly more the
only certainty so far is another:-
4 Thomas McWHANNELL b Dunira Comrie 20/09/1859 who married Margaret McCALL
in Straiton 15/11/1881.at that time he was a coachman in Fowlis Wester.It
is through one of their children ie Jessie McWHANNEL b Muthill 3/06/1884
which my line continues.

add to my information.
