Dear Listers,

Is anyone else tracing Mary R. (STOBIE) and James DOW (carpenter)?

Their son, James DOW, was born November1858 in Crail, Fife but his obituary
stated that James (Jr.) was of Perth, Scotland. So, I'm wondering if the
family spent many years in Perth after the birth of James.

In the 1881 census, I have the right James (Jr.) given as a teacher, age 21,
in Glasgow. There is a possible family for James Sr. (joiner, age 44, in
Perth Middle Church) However, I'm a little reluctant to take them as the
correct family because all their birth places are in Perth with no mention
of Fife.

I'm hoping that someone will have other descendants of James DOW and Mary
STOBIE! Keeping my fingers crossed... Thank you for any help!
