I appreciate the corrections and additions have cleared me of being totally
off base. If the money goes to the promised treasure trove of adding early
census and other records for the archive, I will get on Scotlandspeople.gov and I
will be supporting my own research and an improved online for the up and
coming researchers.

I meant no disrespect to her Majesty.... but after dealing with Crown
copyright, I should have realized that Crown means government and not the Queen. I
think the old prejudice in the family (my Minne's folks were from England, my
Father's from Scotland) is showing. Does anyone know the term used for
steriotypical highlanders? I remember it started with an S and Mom frequently refered
to my Dad as one. Sasinoch? Oddly, our family was mostly lowlanders... my GGG
father didn't go to his daughter's wedding, so family story goes, because he
was a McPhail and a Highlander and my gg father was from Inchture, near Dundee.

http://www.electricscotland.com/books/index.htm Loads of books and info on
Scottish history and allows genealogist to put on mini-bios of ancestors. There
is clan info and a sept list for those like the McBlain request wondering
about which clan is correct. I like the music connections, as nothing makes being
online better like Scottish music on the CD player in the background.

When I get "homesick" I go and look through their postcards. Does anyone have
someone going to school at Dundee Univeristy? I was thinking about trying to
hire a student to take some photos around the area. What is the Dundee
newspaper called? Maybe putting in an ad for someone to help me might work.

Anyway, I thank those who wrote and I hope the newbie's amonst us will have a
better idea of where to look for records. I had a friend who found a listing
of all her great grandfather's siblings by finding an immunization record in
Ireland. Is there a similar land evaluation records similar to the Griffith's
records in Ireland?
