Richard,
sorry I hit the wrong button and is sent it unfinished. I will give you his
address too. He is very good and goes into Edinburgh often for me. I asked him
about the archive last time I wrote. If you need any military records, they
are at the PRO in Kew, England. They have their military records searchable by
PROCAT their catalog.
There is also a small genealogy center at the Blairgowrie library. <A HREF="http://search.aol.com/aolcom/redir?src=websearch&requestId=a904dc810d5d8bbf&clickedItemRank=1&userQuery=Blairgowrie+genealogy&clickedItemURN=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.perthshire.co.uk%2Fperthshire.asp%3FSRC%3D70">

Isabel Collier is another good professional.
There is a nice little book on Old Blairtgowrie in photos, and I would be
happy to send you the ISBN if you want. I love that little village.... especially
during berry season!
Ironically it is the sister city of Fergus, Ontario where my great
grandfather emigrated from Perthshire.... I think Ballindean, Inchture. Wish I could
find a record that says exactly, but I haven't found one.
If you search by Blairgowrie on the web you will find lots of interesting
links. Blair in Gowrie was the origin of the name... and then it became
Blairgowrie.
good luck hunting,
Mary
