Hello Stuart and lists,

Errol is a parish in Perthshire not Angus.. but then John & Magdalane
married in Dundee; so you are not off topic<grin>. Also many Errol families
had/have relatives in Dundee and some moved back and forth between the two
places.
In any case I am sending this reply to both the ANGUS-l & PERTHSHIRE-L.

Your family :

I have checked the 1841 Census of Errol and find only a Thomas NEAVE in the
parish. I hope to see the 1851 census tomorrow at a Family History Center.

However some list members have the Index for the 1851 census and may give
you some data more quickly.

The IGI shows that their first child, Mary, was baptised at Dundee in 1840,
and that Agnes was baptised at Inchture in 1842.

I would suggest that you order the Birth Cert of John Thomson NEAVE.
This would give you a lot of additional data family data.
I can tell you that no NEAVE died in Errol in 1855.

The 1881 Census shows Andrewm Alexander & William were still in Errol.

Mary NEAVE m. Alexander McDOUGAL at Errol in 1862.

Hope this helps a little.

Cheers
