Sorry I forgot which lady was asking about how to find constable records. On
this website (above) it lists several professional. Follow the My ancestor
was.... prompt. It even covers prisoners.
I also found a wonderful little book that gives a bibliography for each
profession. It includes different regiments of the military.
Scottish Trades and Professions, vital records and directories. compiled by
D.R. Torrance published by the Scottish Association of Family History Societies.
Another helpful book (obviously books are some of my very best friends)

Family History on the Web. A Directory. Stuart A. Raymond Published by the
Federation of Family History Societies.
I search by society (Tay Valley, Aberdeen, Fife, etc.) for what each sells,
then up to the Scottish Association and finally the U.K. federation...
sometimes you have to widen your circle to find a pin point....
