Hello List,

My brick wall-Duncan Stewart died in Alloa in 1864 age 70. His parents are
listed as John Stewart and Catherine Stewart ms -------. We know Duncan was
born in Perthshire giving Crieff and Fortingall depending on what census you
look at. Were there standards to complete certificates?
Does -------mean the informant (Duncan's son Alexander) did not know his
grandmother's name or that her name was Stewart as well??? Until we solve
this we are stopped. Any comments would be appreciated.
