Hello,
This was known as Parish Relief and was administered by each
individual Parish until 1948, when the National Assistance Board (Now
Benefits Agency) came into being. Poors Board Officers continued to operate
for some time after that date. Many archives departments (eg Stirling
Archives) have varied amounts of records depending on what was not destroyed
on the ending of the old Poor's Board System. You would have to contact the
local archives to see what, if anything, is available. As far as I know,
there is no listings for the whole of Acotland.
