Dear Jane,

Entitlement to parish relief funds was determined either through residence
in that parish, or through having been born there, so your Peter Campbell
may be mentioned in the vicinity of Blair Athol if his parents were still
resident there at the time of his birth.
The Natioanl Archives of Scotland have a searchable online catalogue of
their holdings at http://www.dswebhosting.info/NAS/ which gives an
indication of the location (either in Edinburgh or locally), and extent of
any surviving records
