The Regional School of St. Martin in Kelberg, Germany would like to
contact descendants of emigrants from Kelberg and its surrounding
villages in the Rhineland-Pfalz. It is believed that many more Germans
emigrated from this area than had been previously determined. Class
Ten of the Kelberg school would like to hear from you if your
ancestors originated from this area. Kelberg is located north of the
city of Trier and west of the city of Koblenz. This county belonged to
Kreis Adenau until 1932 and after that date it belonged to Kreis
Mayen. Since 1971, Kelberg has belonged to Kreis Daun, Rhineland-Pfalz,
The Kelberg School has established a home page on the Internet and it
can now be reached at:

Here you can find the names of the Retterath parish emigrants, dates
of emigration, and other family information as found in German records.
At present, the home page covers "Auswanderer aus der Pfarrei Retterath"
which includes the towns of Arbach Bereborn, Franzenmuehle, Kolverath,
Lirstal, Mannenbach, Oberelz, Retterath, and Salcherath. In addition
to these, almost forty towns are included in the county of Kelberg.
This is an ongoing project and more information will be included as it
becomes available.

The Class would like to determine where the emigrants eventually
settled and learn more about their lives here in America. If your
ancestors came from the Kelberg area, you are invited to send them
your ancestors names, dates and places of birth, dates of emigration,
and places of settlement. Their mailing address is:
