Hello Jack and other cousins,
I'm one of the "lurkers." I'm just now picking up email after several
days and read your request for lurkers to respond.
I haven't done any active research for several years. I was just
surfing around on the web one day a year or so ago and stumbled across your
web page. I do occasionally print out items that seem to pertain to my line
in hopes that someday I'll get back to it. In short -- I'm not a die-hard
genealogist, but I share the Philbrook name and still maintain an interest in
research even though my other commitments take priority and have left me
virtually no time to pursue genealogy.
I appreciate the hard work the active researchers have done, not to
mention the expense involved. I also appreciate the web page and links and
do look them up sometimes.
As a little side story -- a Philbrick cousin contacted me last summer
after she found the website and read through the list of cousins. We also
share the same married name. I have gained a new friend with whom I talk
regularly.
Again, thank you for all your work. I do have some information that I
have always meant to send (civil war era), I'll get busy and do that. :)
