Before ordering my husband's grandparents marriage license a few months ago, I
called the Marriage License Bureau in Philadelphia and a very kind gentleman
advised me that each year the requirements for applying changed so that the
information asked for on the Application for Marriage changed as well. When
requesting a Marriage Cert therefore you may receive some or all of the
following for either both or on just the husband, primarily:

Date(s) of Birth
Place(s) of Birth
US Citizen
Current Residence
Occupation
evidence of prior marriages
mental health
Parents' names
Parents' place of residence

My grandparents-in-law were married in 1917 and I received all of the above
information on both parties within 2 weeks of sending out my request and
checks. But the gentleman I spoke with told me that some years only the
husband's info was reported primarily and only the wife's name was listed. He
further told me that there was no way to determine the information you would
receive - it was there or it wasn't.
So, you're buying a pig in a poke.

Hope this helps!!
