John Adam Bernhardt, Jr. was born in Philly Nov. 12, 1858 to John Adam
Bernhardt, Sr. and Christianne Kolb Bernhardt. They were living in the
Northern Liberties.

JA Bernhardt, Jr. married Emma Kate Lang Sept 12, 1891 in the Methodist
Church by Edwin C. Griffeth of 1929 N. Thirteenth St. They had three
children, William Lang, JA III, Emma Kate. JA III and his mother died
in an epidemic 1891.

John Adam left his two surviving children with his parents and resumed
his life. Family lore said that he remarried and had a family. This is
the family for whom I am searching. John Adam, Jr's death certificate
lists him as divorced. His residence at the time of his death was 1117
Fairmount Ave. His death certificate states his was attended by Howard
C. Millick, MD; June 19, 1926. The person who attested that the
information recorded on the death certificate was true was Mrs. Hermenie
Lang of 1310 N. 29th St. Hermenie was the aunt of John Adam, jr's first
wife, Emma Kate.
