I just wanted to thank all of the wonderful people on this listserver
for being so polite and kind to some of us who do not know our roots
through adoption. I know it is a touchy subject with some. I am still
looking for my father's birthfamily in hopes of getting the medical
history. We do not want a reunion or to enter another families lives at
this point in my 67 year old father's life. My father was born in the
midst of the depression on 3-31-1933 to an unwed Gertrude Clements in
Philadelphia, PA. He was named ROLAND WILLIAM CLEMENTS. His adoption
was a private one and took place in Philadelphia Municipal Court. I am
not sure if his mother was from Philadelphia because they usually sent
them to live with relatives if you were unwed. I feel for her and know
this had to have impacted her life in some way. We really need the
medical history and that is why I am opening up to the listserver
community on a touchy subject. If you have anyone in your family that
fits this description, please let me know. Here are some of the
hereditary factors that my father has:

Color Blind- Comes from mother's side and is passed to male only
Alcoholism
Receding hairline in his 20's-Comes from mother's side also
Bi-Polar disorder (Maniac Depression)
Hip Disorder
Lupus or other Arthritic diseases
Bleeding Disorder (Not Hemophilia however)
Skin Cancer
Ulcers
