Hi...

Need some help with this one. My great grandfather, Alonzo Heaps Yocum,
received a bible from the above. The inscription on the cover reads:

Alonzo Heaps Yocum
from
The Scottish Rite Bodies
Valley of Philadelphia

My ggrandfather was the County Surveyor of Delaware Co. at the turn of the
20th century and lived in Darby, however his family had lived in Kingsessing
for over 200 years. His father (and grandfather) owned a butcher shop near
St. James Episcopal Church for the better part of the 1800s.

I have no idea who this group was and why they might have honored my gg...
If anyone can help, I would be most appreciative.
