Subject: [PHILLY-ROOTS-L] 1850 Older CHEW Census (earlier family)
Date: Wed, 03 Jul 2002 13:41:52 -0400
Ron Ulrich, CHEW researcher par excellence, sent me this:
!US Census 1850 (27 July) South Wark Ward 3, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
Roll M432_821, page 189, lines 37-42: Eliza Chew (b. Abt 1806 - 44 - in
PA). Children listed (born in PA) are: Emily (dau b. 1834 - 16); Mary
(dau b. Abt 36 - 14); Sarah (dau b. Abt 1839 - 11); Wesley (son b. Abt
1841 - 9). ALSO LISTED IS: Agnes Chew (b. 1772 - 78 - in NJ - Property
Value $2000).
I am wondering if anyone might have this more in the form it appeared,
or possibly even an image? This is the mother and *grandmother* of
Walter Wesley CHEW, and his siblings. Apparently, his father had died
before the taking of the census.
BTW, if anyone sent one of those letters asking if Rootsweb is down,
or anything, don't sweat it. I will *definitely* not say anything
about it! This downtime has been much longer than I suspect even they
may have known it would be...
Thanks,
Vince Summers
