Subject: [PHLY-RTS] Use of that Aerial Viewer

I realized, after posting, that I ought to tell you how you can
possibly get the most from it, and spend the least time having to
fiddle with the learning curve!

What I do is, visit Yahoo Maps. You know -- just go to
http://www.yahoo.com/
and pick Maps

Enter the address you seek. A small map with a red star on it
will appear. Save that image as a GIF file. For me, that calls
for a Right Click (Netscape) and picking Save Image As...

Some crazy letters will appear. Change it to something like
Image.gif to your desktop.

You will then have a map with clearly delineated streets. You
may well need that! The aerials are photos, and so you will likely
not know the street names, as they aren't listed, naturally!

To get your photo, click on the approximate place you want in the
U.S. in the green (or you can use a search to the left). You
will get a closeup of a smaller image. Click where you want on
that, etc., etc., until you get the correct spot. How do you save
that image? Well, it is really a composite of 6 images! If you
save the image right at the spot you want, save it as the same
name, but as a JPG. The images there are JPGs and not GIFs, as
in the case of the map.

Happy hunting, as the phrase goes...

Vince
