Subject: [PHLY-RTS] Anthony "Tucker" Eden murdered his mother
Date: Sat, 07 Jun 2003 23:49:35 -0400

I am interested in any newspaper articles about the following murder of
my Great Aunt, Anna McGrath Eden. She was married to James Eden and
lived in Philadelphia, PA. She was murdered by her 14 year old son,
Anthony (also called Tucker). Anthony was 14 and in eighth grade at the
time. He had asked to go to a dance and he was told no. His mother was
sitting on the couch knitting and he returned and stabbed her over and
over with a 10 inch butcher knife. His father was asleep (drunk)
upstairs and didn't hear anything going on. Anthony left the home,
sniffed some glue and returned to the house. His younger sister (age
13) had already found the body after returning home. Police at first
accused his father. The father thought he actually did it because he
couldn't remember anything. Police then asked Anthony if he murdered
his mother and he gave a full confession.

I have one article on this but I know there were more. Anthony got off
on a technicality (made a confession in front of police as a juvenile
and no lawyer present). Years later (August of 1980) he was shot off a
rooftop by police in another incident.

Thank you

Lisa
